I installed AVG 9 30 day full protection on my Sony laptop running on XP pro with SP2.
After successful installation and virus scanning (no virus were found) I had to downgrade to AVG Free version 9 because the system became slow. After rebooting it I find it doesn'boot up completely.
It shows windows XP loading-- screen and then after some times it shows a black screen and stays that way forever.
it doesn't move forward at all. No windows loading music at all. Only a black screen with the white mouse can be seen. Safe mode also show the black screen with safemode written around four corners of the screen. There is nothing seen in the black are?
This means the LCD screen is OK (since the windows loading logo is seen initiallY) but it is a software issue specially after AVG 9 free has been loaded.
How do I troubleshoot this? How can I go into regedit and remove AVG and then reinstall it?
