I have a question regarding draw requests. I wanted to know how many draw requests can be made by an opponent. I believe that consecutive draw requests cannot be made, but is there a limit on the total per game or possibly per X number of moves. The reason I ask is because I am currently in a game ( stansco.com/cgi-bin/nc_game.cgi?334744??black? ) where I am obviously dominating the game and it is just a matter of time before I promote my pawns and win (baring one of the biggest collapses of all time). Being down, my opponent asked for a draw on move 34. He also made a comment of "Tee Heee". I had no problem with the first draw request. I thought that it was a bit inappropriate but just denied it without really giving it a second look. However, 2 moves later (move 36) he requested another draw. Now, as I stated, this game is won by black, however, it will take me at least 4 moves to promote plus a few more to checkmate. On the other hand, if the player is allowed to request a draw every other turn, this game could continue much longer than it should. Now, don't get me wrong, I like long games and have no problem with a player wanting to finish a game until checkmate, but under the circumstances, I believe this is just disrespectful play. Thus, the purpose of this post is to find out if I will have to endure draw requests every other turn, or if there is some sort of hope down the line. If there isn't, then I would like it to be at least known to other possible opponents, that this behavior could be duplicated in other games. I hate to sound like such a whiner, but I do appreciate any information that I can get on the matter. Thanks again,
