Guess I'm not too familiar with this format. Don't know what 3-day limit means or 3-day timeout. Sorry. Anyhow I re-challenged.

Hi mickey. I disagree with your thought that I am taking the point to extremes, as I have simply provided the information that joblack stated he lacked as to how to follow your posted time control. You posted the following description of the tournament: You also had written: Note that I was NOT the person who reported this issue in the first round, and I have always acted according to your guidance, by creating challenges for each round where I hold the white pieces, an setting up the 3-day time control. Please understand that I am simply trying to be helpful in giving the information and explanations that joblack needed in order to ensure that the tournament does not drag over months. Note that the text I gave quotes verbatim from Stan's descriptions, and I added some emphasis and explanation of the use of the various fields to be in line with what you, as tournament director, stated was the correct time control--an issue which has, as you indicated, already been pointed out to you as having affected some players. For myself, I will accept challenges that abide by your tournament description, and reject those that do not. I will be friendly and helpful, taking time to ensure that the other party is not acting out of ignorance, by giving them the information they need. If anyone were to persist in willfully ignoring the conditions of the tournament that were posted by you at the beginning, to which I accepted, then I will certainly report them to you! After all, if I were to accept incorrect time control, you would either need to get Stan to change it, or the incorrect time control would not be enforced (necessitating both players to keep track of the correct 3-day time control manually, and report any game forfeits due to 3-day violation for you to enter into the tournament scoreboard).

I guess I'll put my two cents in for what its worth, I'll have to agree with Comet on this one. The tournament was suppose to have 3 day time control as to keep it from running on for months and months like allot of tourneys have, I think this was a great idea by the tournament director and I don't think its that hard to set a challenge for the correct time control. For the record I was the one who had asked Mick about the time control not being correct on all the games. I also like to follow some of the other games in the tourney and it is hard to do without a game number and or incorrect time control

Does a "3 day time control" mean that we only have 3 days to make the challenge. If so I guess I might have failed to give it the attention that I should have. However being new to this 'tournaments' and the format is my excuse. Does this mean I forfeit my game to Comet?

If mickeypoll is consistent, he won't make you forfeit, just because you didn't submit a valid challenge in a timely fashion. But you're quite right to ask--in over-the-board tournaments, your opponent may start the clock before you show up at the table, if you are late for the event. Here, I know that mickeypoll is nicer. On a previous round, my opponent sent me no challenge, and mickeypoll asked if I would mind submitting the challenge myself *as black*, just to help out, and I did so. And, joblack, I recommend you read the New Player Tips.
