www.vox.com/2014/7/17/5912321/plane-russia-us-sanctionsThe MH17 crash comes as the US is imposing big sanctions on Russia over UkraineOn Thursday, Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crashed in eastern Ukraine, raising tensions in the ongoing Ukraine crisis as rumors circulated that rebels may have shot the plane down. While there is no clear connection yet and those rumors may turn out to be false, the Ukraine crisis was already entering a new stage of escalation. The day before the crash, the Obama administration had imposed a slate of new sanctions on the Russian economy to punish it for its support for separatist rebels.Poland and Italy certainly want tougher sanctions against Russia. The question is, what will Norway do, and how will this affect the current plans for Magnus Carlsen to play in Russia?

I believe you would love to see Magnus disregard any sanctions his country may make against Russia for its actions which lead to flight MH17 being shot down.
I, however, hold a contrary opinion. I believe that citizens should act as responsible ambassadors for their country, and it would be unjust for Russia to not have consequences for its actions which lead to Flight MH17 being shot down. As a good citizen of Norway, I hope that Magnus honors any sanctions that his country feels are appropriate to levy.
When you started this thread on this chess board, what do you mean when you said "may justice be done", when you suggest that the premiere chessplayer flaunt the law of his country? I hope it isn't just that you don't believe in government of the people, by the people, for the people!

I let emotion triumph over logic. I now see the error of my ways.
