There are many ways to improve as a player no matter what reason one has for playing. I just want to share one way that I have found helps me to improve. Find two players that are very good, better then you are and follow their game and conversation. There are players here that love to discuss moves, strategy, openings, experience and more while they are playing the game. I have recently keyed into such a game and am learning by reading and then studying online what they are doing and talking about. As a result, I have begun a study of my own on several openings I was not aware of one of which aggressively counters the Sicilian Defense. I am in debt to these two players who have helped without knowing it to inspire me to improve my game. Thank you.
