Hi Stan,
I really enjoyed your's and Savin's Swiss Extravaganza tournaments and I believe many other people did so too.
It's been a while since we've seen Savin and I was wondering about what it would take to run that tournament. As I remember you made some sort of page for Savin to set up the tournament and pair the players for each round etc.
Do you think it would be possible for another player, i.e. me, to run a new installment of the Swiss Extravaganza?

I appreciate your offer to get that going again, but I don't think we're going to be able to revive those tourneys. Savin did a ton of work to get those set up. We worked together to get the registration part done at the site, but the tourney matchups were all done by Savin with software that I never saw.

I do have some basic knowledge about running swiss tournaments, since I've been running quite a few of those in my club quite a while back. I was planning to use the software I used in the club for pairing.
But I understand if you're reluctant - probably because Savin used accelerated pairing based on his own improved rating system.
As I understand you have a system for starting games on behalf of other players for tournament designers (e.g. Stansco Ladder). Would it be possible for me to use that and then make my own version of a swiss tournament?

Yes - I was going to suggest that, but it's a lot of work (for you).
I can provide a way for you to create games, but we'd have to talk about registration and things like that. Please send me an email (stan@stansco.com) and we can discuss it that way.
