rating vs skill level

I was wondering if The site could set some guidelines for people closer with rating's vs level. For example I sit my self at a level 2. My rating moves around between 1600-1750 give or take. Then 2 different posts will go up one with say someone with rating 1850 says hes a level 1 and only wants to play level 1.So I have to go adjust my level if I wish to play this person. Next post some 1550 rating with skill level 3. Only wants to play level 3 and above. Once again must adjust my level to play people around the same rating as me. I really like this site and thats my only little pet peeve, is when I see someone rated 1350 as level 1,then someone rated 1850 as level 1. Just seems off.

The level setting has been an issue for a long time here. We are actually in the middle of implementing the "new rating system" and part of that is the player's skill level being tied to his/her rating. The players will no longer be able to set their Skill Level (other than when they first sign-up at the site). The rating system will be setting the level.
