2006 Swiss Tournaments
I noticed that the start date for Round 5 and Round 6 are scheduled to start for April 3 and April 10 (which is today). Haven't seen either of those as of this post. Are they now going to start together at some point?
Round 7 and 8 are posted to start April 17 and 24 respectively, with no games then starting again until June 19.
Is there a reason for starting rounds so close together, and then a month and a half gap until more come up?
Could you please explain?

The delay is a much more fundamental reason..... I forgot that starting tournaments early in the year makes it much harder to see who has left the site -- since everyone starts with 30 days vacation. In a Swiss its pretty important to remove the players from the tournament before pairing the next round. I am probably goign to launch the next rounds in couple of days. right now it looks like we need to remove 19 ... which is really not bad considereing we had 400+ entrants. But some of the ones that appear to be missing are notable. Zormaster for instance?? I also have some long standing members absent .. and need to find out why before removing them.
This is always the tricky stage in a Swiss. From here on we will probably have few players disappearing.

Thanks for the explanation.
Now that you mention it, I believe in the past the Swiss was started later in the year.

Yep and it was pretty quick to see who was forfeiting since most of the forfeiters were already out of days!!

Yassen,
I think its just the Open Swiss with the duplicate game problem. Please let me know if you see another problem.

It must be sporadic, as I have not noticed any problems with my Swiss Open games (or Cat 3).

I had a game going with 'Fou rouge' in the Open Swiss which started tonight, and now it's gone.
Is this a bug?

No - I was trying to fix the double-game situation last night and made a mistake. The games all still exist - they are just pointing to two of my test players as opponents right now. I will be restoring one of the two games created for everyone.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

No problem, Stan. I just wanted to make sure that this was something you weren't aware of yet.

We have fixed the issue with two games being created for round 5 in the "2006 Open Swiss Tourney".
Thanks go out to Savin for his usual hard work. He was instrumental in getting this fixed.

Quick question in regards to Round 9 for the Swiss games.
Stan or Savin, could you please confirm whether or not the new games will start on June 19th?
