To: Stan, savin and all who value the open/friendly/insightful chessic continuity this MB offers. Persistent Reprobate Adolescent Miscreant (PRAM) We have all witnessed the ongoing deterioration to this MB, brought about by a PRAM. Even the ever patient, tolerant, and empathic Stan, seems to have become quite worn down and exasperated, when trying to deal with this PRAM! Since Stan unable to permanently weed out these PRAMs such as savinsnightmare (and his/her many other 'cloaks') I strongly suggest we cooperate, act in unison, and take the following action: 1. PRAMs thrive on attention. Give him/her/them/it none! 2. Make no reference to any comment made by any PRAM 3. Make no response to any issue or argument raised by a PRAM 4. Do not quote any PRAM. Discussion of my proposal should include no reference to PRAM other than this acronym. 5. In every way possible lets pull together and make all PRAMs permanently 'invisible'. If we all act in concert we can rid ourselves of this, and all other PRAMs. It may take time but given his/her immature mind-set s/he'll soon move on to other, more amenable, sites.

To all non-PRAMs
Please be aware! This particular PRAM has been sending me (and probably many others on this MB) SPAM and virus ladened email attachments to my SNC published email for some time now ... including today.
Fortunately my system protection found and neutralised it very quickly. This, like all other PRAMs, has the moral mentality of a mosquito, so please take all necessary precautions. Be vigilant!

Some message boards have a feature that can block/ignore chosen users (based on username or IP) to combat the people who can't handle having an audience.
Maybe Stan should check if this board has such a feature and enable it.

Blockhead, If you have recieved an email infected with a virus from any other person or persons at the site (or any other person for that matter) and you believe that the virus was sent intentionally or knowingly it is covered under: 18 USC ยง 1030- the Federal Computer Abuse Act of 1994 This law applies to all people living in the United States. There is a similar international law that is policed by Interpol. Violations of this law are Federal, and as such are investigated by the FBI. The one gray area is if both parties live in the same State it might be argued that that in that case State law would prevail. Anyway, here is a link to an extract of the law: gsulaw.gsu.edu/lawand/papers/fa03/hague/#lawBasically you report the person to the FBI. They would then check to see if the person can be identified through records such as credit card usage. Once they identify the person if they believe the act was deliberate the person can be charged with a federal Crime. This level of action would probably only be imprisonable by up to 1 year in prison and a $5,000 fine. But the FBI group dealing with stuff takes it very seriously.

This message was like a trap, take the Bishop and its mate. You were not meant to reply, but there are always some that cannot resist a simple trap!

The strange thing is that I think I know who "PRAM" is, and he has been nothing but excellent company over the chess board, as far as I'm concerned.
In fact a very good player, a real challenge to play, and makes moves fairly quickly which is nice. If anyone is having problems from him then I'm surprised, but I can only speak as I find, and don't have a bad word to say of the man ..... except he tends to beat me.
However, I may have the wrong person of course.

savin,
Thanks. Most illuminating. I've made some preliminary enquiries and have a clear idea how to proceed.
If this PRAM continues as before I will take whatever action is necessary.
Only a fool would continue to put themselves at risk of serving 5 years and a hefty fine, but as for this pesky mosquito, who knows?
S/he/they now know the likely consequences if this unacceptable behaviour continues.
I won't be giving any further warnings!

Well genius, the clever thing is that you have no way of knowing who's blocking which IPs and usernames. Besides, blocking a new IP or Username just takes a single click with the mouse - compare that to the trouble you have to go through.
