Why would you post a message like that at an INTERNATIONAL chess site? What would you think if I post a link to a similar site for Russian troops? Okay? What about Serbian troops then? Iraqui?
I think we should keep this board free from any political messages. Chess is what we're gathered here for.
And why you keep changing your accounts? JDE, Fingerslip, bellesbabe, Phantom Ghost, ..................

Why is it relevant for the players of Stan's NetChess to read about some nation's soldiers? And why do we owe them our thanks?
Being an international chess board it should be kept free of religious, political and/or ideological propaganda.

That's a fairly childish response and you don't seem to answer the questions. Perhaps they were too abstract for the likes of you?
Well, never mind answering them; my point is... Next time you feel the urge to express your patriotism, political stand point, religious belief or ideological ideas you should consider choosing a more appropriate forum. Propaganda is rarely welcomed and when you don't have the intellectual abilities to explain it you risk making a fool out of yourself.

Maybe he was thanking the Swiss Navy for the superb job they do at patrolling Lake Geneva? or perhaps it was a huge vote of confidence for the Royal Lichenstein Air Force and the great work they have done in keeping the skies of Europe clear?

Savin? Did your parents have any kids that lived? Hmm... a very deep question. On the surface since I'm typing one might think the answer to that is a trifle on the obvious side ;D. By the way, my addition to this thread was just to see if your knowledge of world geography stretched beyond the borders of the USA. Your original statement concerning "support our troops" without any mention of which country's troops you were referring to on a site that is clearly very international in its mix clearly shows either: (The top 10 answers to the question are) 10) An impressive display of oblviousness 9) A total disregard for anyone else at the site who is not from the USA 8) You never got past 2nd grade and hence never made to advanced classes that discusssed that there are over 4 billion people on the panet and only about 300 million live in the USA. 7) Your fingers were not fully connected to your brain when you typed the original message 6) You were having a bad hair day 5) Everyday is a bad hair day 4) You thought you might stir up a hornets nest and are very pleased with the results so far 3) Secretly wanted to impress any dead siblings might have 2) Knows my mother and the number 1) answer is ..... 1) Saw "support our troops" on a bumper sticker and thought "WOW!!! this will really impress the guys at the chess site Overall Letterman would be greatly impressed.

At least Savin's contribution to this site is constructive - not destructive like yours.
And yes - go ahead and demand your subscription money back - again.

No, I haven't fought for my country.
You can pretend you don't know what I'm talking about. I don't think it surprises anyone.

Reyn is not taunting and abusing everyone. Is he attacking anyone, pretending to be 50 different people, posting links to "Best legal highs on the net" and "most famous serial killers ever"?
You got the response you wanted ok - you can be real proud of yourself. I'm done.

JDE,
the answer to your question is: 1) Yes I have served in the military 2) Yes some people might describe it as "fought"
But, thank the lord I chose the Navy because I would not have felt particularly happy about getting shot at in Northern Ireland. in fact, I'm was not big on the concept of "being shot at". I was also not big at "shooting at others" although I must admit its more appealing than being the one being shot at.
I personally am a great supporter of British troops wherever they are stationed. I don't personally feel any great need to support "American Troops" since I'm British. I don't expect American citizens to support British Troops either.
