I have received a few questions about the speed of the site this morning. I have seen the slowness too. The good news is that it IS NOT my server. I can see server statics that show the server is not having any kind of load problems. It appears to be another general datacenter issue with my hosting service. If you check out www.smarthosting.com you will see the same kind of slowness. I have registered a complaint with them, but they are just one of the customers of the datacenter themselves, so they are basically in the same boat that we are. I'm sure it will be back to normal soon. Sorry for the inconvenience. |

Thanks, Stan for informing us, but as I mentioned in my email to you this morning, I noticed problems from my end about 9pm PST last night.
I had a feeling that it was nothing to do with your site. This problem has cropped up before, and I guess it was never fully resolved.
I do hope that things get back to normal soon.
P.S.: The funny thing is that this message board is loading much faster than my player page. Huh?

I've noticed that the internet in general is very slow today, not just Stan's Netchess I've had no problems in general. Just a few hiccups here and there. This same issue cropped up in 2004 /2005 here. At the moment, the access for me here is much improved over last night and this morning, although a little slower than the norm. |

Yes - the old board was integrated with my site. then we got attacked because of hole in the code that I didn't write, so I just didn't feel comfortable continuing with it.

That's too bad you had to deal with that, but overall, this board seems to be very close in features that the old one had.
I think you made a good choice.

The site is running normally for me and I have not noticed any slowness at any time. I'm not saying there has not been problems, only that there has been none at my end.
