As a poster on many message boards I can tell you it has more to do with the difference in the way males and females communicate.
Females are more interested in constructive conversations. They are not attracted to spouting off and confrontational ego boosting of most message boards much less the juvinile flaming comments that boards often attract.
Constructive use of communication and civility will attract females to post. Bickering and name calling tends to remind them of the children they must deal with on a daily basis.

International Women's Day International Women's Day (8 March) is an occasion marked by women's groups around the world. This date is also commemorated at the United Nations and is designated in many countries as a national holiday. When women on all continents, often divided by national boundaries and by ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political differences, come together to celebrate their Day, they can look back to a tradition that represents at least nine decades of struggle for equality, justice, peace and development. www.un.org/ecosocdev/geninfo/women/womday97.htm

RUBBISH you might be an exception to the rule. ;D of course, the assumption that all females deal daily with bickering & name calling children is overly broad. (no pun intended )

He better take a one way ticket to mars or moon. Natacha the angry ZorMaster

Natacha the angry ZorMaster were you talking to me? i'm still on earth. i don't agree with scarecrow, you know. i'm male, and don't like bickering/name-calling, so gender doesn't have anything to do with it. i'm also a much weaker chess player than you, but maybe you'll give me a lesson sometime. ;D

I have never played a girl. I played one on Stan's Chess and I was getting hammered, but "girls can't fix their computer" as the game was forfeited. Never lost to a girl at chess ? Never won either.
At least, not knowingly ?
PS: Get both Queens off the board early and can mate be achieved without any pieces being promoted to new Queens?

PS: Get both Queens off the board early and can mate be achieved without any pieces being promoted to new Queens? that's easy. achieving mate without any pawns promoting is more difficult.
